With the increasing availability of portable scanning devices, there is a growing interest among clinicians of multiple healthcare disciplines to acquire transabdominal (TA) ultrasound skills.
ScanTrainer provides for a truly self-directed and structured learning solution for educators wishing to meet this growing demand and increase access to TA ultrasound training.
A unique floor-mounted haptic device developed specifically for ScanTrainer to provide a highly realistic abdominal scanning experience. Movement of the TA probe feels just like scanning a real patient, where shape, position and feel change with every patient case, enabling trainees to practice on multiple virtual patients.
ScanTrainer’s unique probe manipulation module uses a sequence of 3D models and ScanTrainer’s haptic transducer. This interactive skills module helps trainees to manipulate the TA probe developing hand-eye coordination and 3D to 2D spatial awareness when interpreting image relationships. A series of engaging tests are used both to teach and assess skills levels.
Full anatomy real patient scans replicate what a student would see on a real ultrasound machine concurrent with ALL planes probe movement. Doppler functions allow students to practice taking measurements.
Case Generator, which is part of our ScanTrainer Cloud, enables tutors to upload their own scans and create their own patient cases, allowing further scanning opportunities for trainees and increased variety of abnormalities and pathology.
